Eingang des The Cloud One Hotels Prag

LET'S MEET

Susan: I guess its quite something to lead a hotel like that. What is the most special thing about The Cloud One in Prague for you?

Robert: What I really like about the hotel is the design. It actually reflects the rich history of the city and the culture of Czech people. And then, I would say the showcasing local products.
All in all we are trying to create kind of like a bridge for the guests. It’s like an entrance bridge for visitors to experience the Czech culture.

Susan: Oh, that sounds really philosophic. I like that!
What would you say are the must sees in Prague, if you have only two hours?

Robert: Then you definitely have to see the Charles Bridge and the Old Town. The Old Town is like the heart of the city, with a lot of historical sights, like the astronomical clock, which is really beautiful. And then, of course the Charles Bridge with its statues offers a great view over the city and the Vltava River. Definitely a great place to go to.
I would also recommend to see the Prague Castle, but for that you need at least half of the day. Prague Castle is actually one of the biggest castles in the world. A beautiful place!

Susan: I heard there is a secret about the hotel?

Robert: Actually, the building is kind of elevated, because it's standing on quite a special place. When they were actually building the hotel, they found a piece of defense wall dating back to the Swedish war. People knew that the Swedes were going to attack Prague, so they built a special protection wall, which was right here. Now the piece we discovered is displayed on the ground floor. However, most of the guests don’t realise that we are actually showing them part of the wall, so directly their experience of the city's history starts right here.

Susan: But not only the ground floor is worth visiting, I think this rooftop bar is really exceptional! Do you have a favourite spot in the hotel?

Robert: Actually, for me, too, one of the nicest places is the bar and the outside terrace, because of its view of the park, the castle, Powder Tower, old town square, Strahov Monastery… you can see everything! And especially at night when everything is illuminated, it is really a sight to see.
Also, on the terrace and in the lounge I especially like all those separated sitting corners, they create cosiness. Here you can really relax and enjoy your drink, especially our wine. Our Czech national sommelier, Klára Kollárová, selected only Czech organic wines, very carefully. And the wine is delicious, I really like it.

Susan: So, let’s try it! Thank you very much for the time and giving us some of the secrets of Prague and the hotel. Cheers!
